What does CBD Mean?
CBD stands for cannabidiol. It has many potential medicinal benefits, including anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-anxiety, and seizure-suppressant properties. CBD naturally shows up as a component of the hemp plant. It is a non-intoxicating phytocannabinoid that offers many uses within the whole body. CBD is just one of many phytocannabinoids and other phytochemicals found in hemp.
Why CBD Oil?
CBD oil is derived from hemp plants that have high levels of cannabidiol (CBD). CBD content of the oil can vary tremendously across different manufacturing due to the varying quality of hemp and the varying preparation and extraction techniques that may be used. It can vary in different concentration levels as well. Understand as well, when you see HEMP Seed Oil, there is no CBD in the seed oil however it does have fatty acids or omegas. HEMP seed oil is also used as a carrier oil when making CBD “tinctures” that you buy.
Is HEMP/ CBD Legal?
CBD from hemp is widely available across the USA. In 2018, U.S. Farm Bill legalized the commercial cultivation of hemp under regulations. All of Care By Design Health and Wellness products are sourced from American-grown, high-CBD hemp.
How is CBD Manufactured?
Our hemp is loved, cared for, grown and harvested in Michigan, specifically the natural and beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Our commitment to use supercritical distillation CO2 extraction is important to keep the process clean.
How does CBD work with my body?
CBD’s actions within the brain and body are quite complicated. It’s very likely that the beneficial effects of CBD operate through diverse biological pathways, rather than by a single action. More research is needed to fully understand the mechanisms by which CBD relieves ailments such seizures. CBD directly interacts with several proteins in the body and central nervous system, a few of which are components of the endocannabinoid system. CBD has both the CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptors. Our bodies have several other receptor proteins that participate in the endocannabinoid system, such as GPR3, GPR6, TRPV1, and TRPV2 as well. CBD binds to all of these, and its possible anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects may occur through these pathways.
What is the difference between Marujuana and HEMP?
Scientifically thinking, Marijuana (THC) and Hemp are the same plant. Hemp is very fibrous with long strong stalks and few flowering buds on the plant. Many marijuana plants can be bushier, a little smaller and flowering buds are more plentiful. When the plant is grown for marijuana it shows up with more THC and a lower volume of CBD. When the plants are grown for Hemp, the plant naturally has higher amounts of CBD and only trace amounts of THC. Many people look at the cannabinoid of the hemp plant for individuals that are looking for the medicinal benefits from cannabis without feeling ‘high.’ In the past hemp has been used to make food products, fiber, rope, paper, bricks, oil, natural plastic, and so much more. In the US, marijuana is usually used both recreationally and medicinally. The term “cannabis oil” can refer to either a marijuana or hemp-derived oil, since marijuana and hemp are two different forms of cannabis.
